The rental drought breaks…for me.

After over a month of lounge-hopping and favours from mates I’ve secured a new place to live. Im paying $90.00 Per week for half of a 2 bedroom + 3 sunrooms home with a yard for my Husky (Hi Mr. Wolfe!). Located in a quieter part of Newcastles’ 3rd ward I’m well pleased. Just finding a $180 two bedroom home + yard in urban Newcastle deserves all manner of literary device and fanfare, however the difficulties for prospective tenants in beloved Newy is painfully self evident .

I did notice people turning upto rental viewings with 3 months cash rent in hand, and more than once wondered if these cashed up remters had a rental history to match or indeed, did this even matter if the property owner were as hard up as we are led to believe. After 15+ years of renting myself I have certainly picked up a few tricks that I would hope favour my application. There is still no real way to know if these are just vain self deceptions generally ignored by fickle and largely disinerested real estate property managers.

vale all,
